They would be the first ones to be disregarded or worse in a take over. War is a dirty game and the people who love to criticize methodology without being truly involved in the defense of what was are indeed the weak of society. The main character is a very strong leader it turns out. But I actually enjoyed it as a change of pace. I didn't know for sure if I would like this adventure veering off from my tried and true story lines. Considerably less involved with prepping and preparedness.

This series is somewhat different from many other authors in that it is very much about nations,nation building and politics. I have many series from different authors. It was good enough that I ordered the entire set 1-7 from Amazon. I actually got book one at the library and enjoyed it very much.
